Anna Winek

My name is Anna Winek and I am a Registered Nutritional Therapist (BANT) having a real passion for foods.

I hold several industry certificates and Nutritional Therapy Diploma from College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM) in London.

I am a registered member of British Association for Applied Nutrition & Nutritional Therapy (BANT), Association of Naturopathic Practitioners (ANP), Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).  I continue with my professional development (CPDs) and I have been attending various courses, workshops, conferences and events to enhance my skills and become more proficient in my career.

The food you eat can be either the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison” – Ann Wigmore.

Anna Winek’s practice is based on Integrative Medicine approach care and Functional Medicine that puts the patient at the centre and addresses the full range of physical, emotional, mental, social, spiritual and environmental influences that affect a person’s health. Anna will typically use functional tests (blood, urine, stool, saliva) in order to assess your imbalances that could be at the root of your health issues.

In Nutritional Therapy we’re looking for the underlying cause of the problem as opposed to just suppressing symptoms.

The first step is always a detailed consultation taking a thorough medical and life history. I want to understand and find out what has led to the current set of symptoms. As a Registered Nutritional Therapist (BANT) I also have access to full laboratory testing if needed. This includes testing for food sensitivities, stool analysis, all blood tests, hormonal and adrenal function, toxic metals, organic acids and nutritional analyses. Many of these tests can be done from home, independent laboratories or in conjunction with your GP and are also appropriate for children.

Following assessment, we will agree a plan of achievable diet and lifestyle changes. This may include some nutritional supplementation according to your individual needs. We will regularly review the plan together.

The range of conditions I see in the clinic are broad. Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), various digestive issues, skin conditions, asthma, arthritis, female hormone imbalances, fertility, pregnancy and postpartum management. Also, allergies, fatigue, stress management and support cancer patients among many more. I enjoy working with female hormone-related issues such as PCOS and chronic digestive disorders like Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) or Coeliac Disease for example, guided by my personal experience with these.

I commonly see patients who are also under the care of their GP or hospital consultant and taking prescribed medication.

Supplements, remedies or laboratory tests are in addition to clinic fees. I can offer you 15% off RRP for supplements bought through The Natural Dispensary. Any recommendations will be discussed with you at your assessment appointment.

I believe in addition to quality nutrition that massage can help with both physical and psychological stressors. I am trained and accredited in ITEC level 3 holistic body massage which uses a clinical approach for the massage treatment. This, in turn, can help prevent unwanted issues with the body and mind developing or be used as part of a plan to overcome problems. Even if a massage is just for relaxation this can have important health benefits. Holistic massage technique may not just be good for wellness, reducing stress, but could be beneficial in strengthening the immune system or may ease digestive discomfort.

“I met Anna over two years ago, when I had recently been diagnosed with advanced non-Hodgkins lymphoma. I felt scared and lonely. By taking the time to speak to me, she changed my life and approach to my cancer. She gave me invaluable advice about the changes I should make to my diet, including juicing and sent me lots of information. She also referred me to specialised centres for advice and treatment including IV Vitamin C treatment. She is a kind, gentle person who genuinely cares about people’s health and goes out of her way to help them. To me, she is an angel sent from above to help me when I was at my lowest point. I really don’t know where I would be now if it wasn’t for Anna’s guidance. Thank you, Anna, for everything.’’
